I am working the vehicle listed above Vtec. I am changing the thermostat and the thermostat housing. Also I removed the plenum for the intake to gain access to the thermostat housing. I would like the procedures from the shop manual to remove and replace the thermostat and it's housing along with torquing the intake back down. (2 bolts and 3 nuts I believe). I am also if there is anything to be careful about when putting the metal water bypass pipe back into the new plastic thermostat housing. Thanks. Any manual steps/ procedures to help me re install the thermostat and the thermostat housing along with the intake plenum would greatly help. Thanks in advance.

This will help a bunch.Thanks. There is just one more item maybe I did not stress that I am doing. I am replacing the housing that the thermostat (image 2) bolts to. The housing is bolted to the engine. It suffered a crack and was leaking where the metal water pipe pushes into the housing. I was wondering what the torque is for the plastic housing to the engine itself. So just to be clear, I am replacing the thermostat assembly and also the housing with the two provisions for the metal tube and molded rubber water bypass hose. Therefore I need the torque value and any procedural steps to install the plastic thermostat housing to the metal block. The installation bolts point towards the passenger side unlike the thermostat itself which points aft. Thanks in advance.

Hello again.

So, I've re-attached image 2 below. I've circled in red the housing you speak of needing additional instructions? Let me know and thanks again for using 2CarPros.

Hello again.

That is called the water passage and is bolted directly to the water pump. I've attached picture steps again below. These steps show the removal of the whole water pump assembly but me personally would just replace the water passage instead of the whole water pump assembly. You will see by the pictures.Hope this helps and thanks again for using 2CarPros.
